Baseball in the past has been very successful at Victor. Last year in 2024 the team had made it to the quarterfinals in states and unfortunately lost, but before losing they had made some great achievements including winning regionals and sectionals for class AA.
With that being said Victor had a starting lineup with 7 seniors. With this large number of seniors on the starting lineup the future is unclear for this spring and how well the team will perform. Due to this uncertainty I went around and interviewed a player from last year’s team and SUNY New Paltz commit Alex Long.

Alex had many things to share on this topic and seemed to be very passionate toward the team. He had told me that “this year’s team will have even better chemistry then last year’s team.”
Having more chemistry this year would be because of the fact the juniors and seniors this year have played together their whole lives. Even last year the chemistry was amazing and they were just meeting people for the first time.
This goes to show that good culture on a team can lead to success. That’s why Alex thinks they will have a good season this year in the spring. I didn’t only just interview Alex Long but I interviewed D1 commit to Le Moyne, Nick Kriegelstein.

Nick had shared with me that he thinks “the talent pool for victor this year is much better than last year.” This could be debated by people but with Nick, he thinks because we have 6 committed baseball players games will sway our way more often than last year.
Based on what Nick and Alex have talked about and my own opinions there is a bright future for the spring. If everyone works hard in the offseason this could be another explosive year for Victor baseball.
