Recently, there has been an uprise in female Victor students breaking the dress code. This is happening in not just the high school, but the elementary schools and junior high as well. Though this may not seem like an issue to some, the boys of these schools have made it apparent this is causing legitimate learning issues.
Johnny Antonio, a student from the Junior High building, was interviewed on this very subject. He said, “Girls should not wear spaghetti straps, it makes me stare and I can not ever focus.” He also added that it was every girl’s fault that he was failing seventh grade math, and not by any fault of his own.
Another student from the High school, who would like to remain anonymous, believed that “girls over 140 should not be allowed to wear crop tops,” because it “offended his and the other boys’ eyes.”
He also mentioned more boys should start wearing more grey sweatpants so they could “distract the females so they see how we feel.” As a female, I would like to go on record saying we all know this is not true.
This issue has caused such an uproar that the male students from the Primary and Intermediate school’s have formed together to create a union. They have been organizing walkouts and going on daily recess strikes to protest the school not enforcing the dress code.
Even the Early Childhood students have started joining in, claiming they do not exactly understand what they are protesting, or even what a protest is for that matter, but are very sick of reading the same picture books and need a reason to get out of class.
To fix this issue, Superintendent Dr. Timothy Terranova and the school board have decided to create a uniform for every female student. This will only be affecting female students, and will consist of a red long-sleeve gown to cover nearly every inch of the female students, and a white visor. All female students will also be forced to either cut their hair into a short bob, or wear their hair in a slick back bun daily. These plans will be put in place on 4/31/2025.
