I have been warned that our Victor Senior High School blue passes are increasing daily. As a Journalist, it was my job to look into this and write about a big change we can make that we never thought would happen again. Talking to multiple staff members and students, we have come to the idea that we will go back to remote learning as of next school year 25’-26’.

Teachers claim the amount of absences, leaving class for long periods of time, and blue passes are a severe issue. Their classes are mostly empty. The excuses used in the attendance office to make blue passes are not believable! Mrs. Chestnut had reported to me that we will no longer be having excused absences for the remainder of our current school year before our big change!
The class of 2026 will not be allowed to graduate until the end of August of 2026. All because of the rise in blue passes we needed a change with our learning.
We will be on zoom meetings every day in our classes, no matter where you are or what you’re doing. All cameras and microphones must be on at all times. The chances are very high if you don’t join these calls your teacher will fail you.
Sometimes online learning can be a struggle, so we have come to the conclusion that we will need more time to learn and our staff members will need more time to teach their curriculum. Our next school year will be September 15th – August 7th. We will then do our Regents as of weeks from August 12th – August 21st. We will have 3 total weeks of summer break every summer.
This may be a heart break or a win for some of our Victor students. This only applies to the Senior High! Every other school in our district will remain as everything is.
