After another unsuccessful JV Hockey season, the coaches have decided to retire number 21, Aiden Calnon. Aiden has been a huge part of Victor Hockey his whole life and has been a stud for the team for years.
Aiden Calnon ended the year with the most goals ever recorded in the team’s history, despite an unsuccessful season.
“Victor hockey has always been a part of my life,” says Aiden, “Ever since I stepped on the ice in mites, I knew that I wanted to be the captain of Victor JV Hockey.”
Aiden Calnon was named the captain of JV hockey before he even tried out. The coaches recognized his skills on the ice, as well as his community outreach off the ice. Aiden Calnon is a great team player as well. On the ice, Aiden has been able to lead their team to their first win in two years. His contribution to the team was massive at this game, with him to score 12 goals, which is 4 hat tricks.

“Aiden Calnon is just the guy you want for your team. Great player, great communication skills, and very respectful. He’s just the guy that you want for your team,” said the coach of the JV team, Luis Morales. “We understand that he has many offers from prep schools across the country, but hope that we can keep him here,”
Aiden Calnon has offers from Noble & Greenough School, Nichols School, and Northstar Christian Academy. He’s also gotten interest from Bishop Kearney. Aiden has also been invited to many USA hockey developmental camps, as well as being invited to skate with NHL teams like the Boston Bruins, Florida Panthers, and the Edmonton Oilers.
Due to this, Victor JV has decided that Aiden’s number will forever be hung up in the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center. During this event, not only will Aidens number be hung up, but the rink will be renamed the Aiden Calnon Civic Center. Center ice will add a picture of him onto it, and the youth teams, the Canandaigua Knights, will now be known as the Canandaigua Calnons

The ceremony will be held in late March and has 250,000 tickets already sold. The Greater Canandaigua Civic Center has offered more seating than ever, including some in the Zamboni room, and they’ve set up TVs in the locker room for those who show up after tickets are sold. There will be transportation provided by the school to this event, and all students who show up get a 25% discount on tickets, and premier seating in the student section.
This event is expected to bring in over 1.5 million fans world-wide. Many people will speak at this event, like Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Sydney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin, and Connor McDavid. All of these men have met with Aiden in the past, and see how successful he is, and to ask for his autograph.
This event is the largest that Victor Schools has ever put on, and the whole Victor Hockey community is excited to commemorate this exceptional player as he moves forward in his career.
