Victor High School has long been a place where Friday night lights shine a little brighter—but now, that light reaches all the way to the NFL. Two former Blue Devils, Rushawn Baker and Mike Novitsky, have taken their talents to the professional level, showing current students that big dreams can start right here at home.
Rushawn Baker, a powerhouse running back, made headlines during his time at Victor by rushing for over 1,100 yards and scoring 19 touchdowns in his senior season. Known for his explosive speed and gritty determination, Baker has now taken the next step—he was signed by the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent, proving that hard work and heart don’t go unnoticed.
Mike Novitsky, a cornerstone of the offensive line during his high school days, continued his football journey at the University of Kansas. There, he sharpened his skills, earned accolades, and became a dependable leader on the field. His consistency and toughness paid off—Novitsky was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent, making his NFL dream a reality.
While their paths were different, one a dynamic playmaker, the other a quiet force in the trenches, both Baker and Novitsky prove that success is built on the same foundation: dedication, perseverance, and a deep love for the game.
Their achievements are more than personal victories—they’re reminders to every current and future Blue Devil that the road to greatness can begin right here on Victor turf. Whether it’s a game-winning touchdown or a crucial block, every moment counts, and the legacy you build today can carry you to a much bigger stage.
As they take on the NFL, Baker and Novitsky continue to represent Victor with pride and in doing so, they inspire the next generation of student-athletes to chase their goals with everything they’ve got.
