Christmas lights for your family!
December 18, 2020
This year with COVID getting in the holiday spirit has been hard. No family or friends gathering and doing fun festive activities. Luckily there is a fun, Covid safe activity you can do in the comfort of your own car. Here are some Christmas lights around the area you can go to check out!
Beaumont
The neighborhood of Beaumont never fails to impress with their big house and even bigger lights! Houses like this one have brought lines of cars from around the area to check out the amazing display they set up every year. Only about a minute drive from the mall you can grab a cup of hot chocolate from Starbucks and enjoy!
Lights on the Lake
This next place is a bit of a drive but worth it. Lights on the Lake is a two mile drive around Onondaga Lake in Liverpool featuring different themes throughout your drive. Themes include: Under the Sea, Santa’s workshop, and a magical forest with beautiful light up creatures. Tickets are sold at your local Wegmans but hurry they sell out quickly!
Buckskin Drive
Another fun light show to see is the one displayed in the neighborhood right across from Mertensia Park. This neighborhood has brought fun for families around the area. With around 25 houses involved in this light show it sure brings a lot of joy for all. The lights are set to the radio station 91.1 and flash along to the music! Not only is this fun for the family it is also for a good cause. Each year the neighborhood raises money for different people or foundations who need it during this holiday season. Go check it out!
Gillis Road
Last, but certainly not least, is this beautiful house on Gillis road. Right across the street from Cobblestone, this house has put on quite the show the past few years. These decorations will certainly get a kick out of you and you may see some fun Christmas characters you may know from some of your favorite Christmas movies! From Olaf to the Abominable Snowman you and your family are sure going to enjoy this display!
Although Christmas is going to be different this year it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have some fun! So with that being said go check out these lights, stay safe, and have a great time!

I love seeing people getting festive around Christmas time, and the dedication put into all of the light displays is impressive. This is a nice reminder that the holiday spirit is still as present as ever!

One of my favorite things to do around Christmas time is drive to neighborhoods and see lights, pandemic or not. This article does a very good job of giving examples of great places to go and getting people into the holiday spirit.
