Born and raised in California to a lower-middle-class family, YouTube sensation Emma Chamberlain has crafted media consumption into a business. In 2018, her honest, adventurous personality and funky editing style attracted millions of viewers to her channel. She shared vlogs about school, traveling, seeing her friends, shopping, etc. Today, she is worth $22 million with her merchandise, podcast, and coffee brand Chamberlain Coffee, sold in Walmart and other markets.
After taking a break from YouTube, the social media star launched her podcast Anything Goes in February 2020. Her rants consisted of fashion, dating & school advice, and stories from her childhood. This was a major outlet for fans and herself as COVID would restrict outings and creativity for media producers.
In the beginning, she sat at her (presumed) kitchen table or in bed with a microphone. Her new and improved setup seems to be a room in her home or another space built for the pod.
This new look feels almost like a cozier version of a therapist’s office -though I prefer the older layout- and she incorporated lighting, cameras, chairs, and mics. Celebrities are now invited on, like her friends, and well-known actresses Daisy Edgar-Jones and Suki Waterhouse.
In the last few years, Chamberlain has redesigned and campaigned her podcast with different artwork styles. fonts, and color schemes. Her most recent version was promoting her podcast with a new Spotify feature that allows creators to upload a video format of their podcasts to be watched on the website as the episode plays.
Now in 2024, she’s been producing a lot of interviews with likeable celebrities but something feels off. The style of the interviews and how she formulates her questions feel more like a professional interview than a “friend-to-friend” chat, especially when the interviewees are sophisticatedly dressed.
Listeners had noted on Chartable other nagging things like “.. The exact same Monopoly and Airbnb ads for years and now it’s like every 10 minutes” followed by a critique on an interview with a musician from a fan: “Can definitely tell Emma hadn’t listened to the album before interviewing Charli [XCX] “.
While these little things can be fixed in time, the remaining audience loves her new approach stating: “She’s dynamic, flexible, and adaptive with her audience” and “She has amazing topics and interesting stories..”, where love from around the world like Thailand, the U.S, Canada, and South Korea give a perspective of how far her influence reaches.
In awe of her ingenuity, Emma establishes a comforting environment through her podcast & social media and continues to expand her enterprise. She is daring and insightful in how she continues to make a name for herself while being humble. Her podcast allows others to feel themselves in her chatter and ultimately, she’s very lovable.

Great article! One thing I have always liked about Emma is that she is always herself no matter the crowd in front of her. She is a very authentic person and I believe her podcast further highlights this. As stated in the article, she is very lovable and humble and you did a good job of showing it throughout the read.

I love how Emma Chamberlain has evolved with her Anything Goes podcast. Even though the setup has become more polished, it still feels super authentic and cozy, like chatting with a friend. I really appreciate how she’s adapted her style over time, keeping the content fresh while staying true to her relatable self. Your review shows this and I love it! Great work:)
