Julie and the Phantoms is an American musical comedy-drama television series created by Dan Cross and David Hoge. The series is based on a Brazilian TV series of the same name.
Julie and the Phantoms was released via streaming on Netflix on September 10, 2020. The TV series stars Madison Reyes, Charlie Gillespie, Owen Joyner, Jeremy Shada, and Booboo Stewart.
The TV series focuses on the story of Julie Molina, a grieving high schooler who had just lost her mother and lost her love for music. Julie was kicked out from her school’s music program after a year of being emotionally unable to play music due to her mother’s death.
A year later her love for music is rekindled after Julie plays one of her old Sunset Curve CDs and suddenly, three ghosts appear living in her garage in Los Angeles. She ends up forming a band called The Phantom with the deceased members of a ’90s teen rock group.
I love that The Phantoms become Julie’s way to help guide her through high school and cope with the loss of her mom. Luke guides her to his house to meet his parents and find out what happened the day he died. Emily and Mitch Patterson told Julie that Luke was their only child. His death at 17 years old in 1995 devastated them, even 25 years later.
My favorite part about this show is how Juile is the only one who can see the boys all the time except for when they are playing music together and the three boys appear with their instruments and everyone can see them. By the end of Julie And The Phantoms, Julie has accepted her mother’s death and the Phantoms have accepted theirs. When they choose to give up their existence for Julie and that is what finally sets them free and breaks the curse that trapped them in the black room.
I love this show so much because it shows that whether someone is dead or alive, what you love can bring you all together. You can show others that even when someone is no longer with you, if you believe it is possible you can do it. If you like TV shows about highschoolers, ghosts but don’t like scary shows I would recommend this show for you.

One of the best shows to sit down and enjoy with the family! So sad that I won’t be able to watch more seasons with my daughters, it should have definitely been renewed.

They should’ve continued the series, ending with no real outcome was darn cruel. My kids and I have watched it so many times we’ve worn out the remote. So unfair to leave it hanging. Come on Kenny get with it and give us more, more
