Mr. Taylor is an 8th-grade social studies teacher who has played guitar in musicals for many years. He has a passion for music and likes to play in the pit orchestra for fun every fall. He is a supportive teacher as well as a respectful and dedicated staff member of Victor.
He treats everyone with a positive and supportive attitude and is also a committed member of the Victor JH Musical Orchestra Pit. He has been playing in the pit since high school and has loved it ever since. He has played in various musicals, his favorite being the popular musical “In The Heights” written by Lin-Man Muel Miranda.
His favorite musical he played guitar in at Victor Junior High was “Matilda” (2023-2024) he says “It had a great combination of great songs and the cast was great”. Mr. Taylor is also always in a positive mood during rehearsals, which can sometimes be stressful and difficult.
He says he discovered his love for playing guitar in middle school and has played ever since. His first guitar was a “Maco Bass” and he started playing in the pit when he was in high school at a school in Long Island.
Mr. Taylor is a full-time teacher but also a guitarist. He practices guitar on his deck, in his house, and anywhere he says he “won’t annoy people”. As a previous student of Mr. Taylor, the best thing about having him as a social studies teacher and seeing him at the musical is that he promotes inclusivity and always has a positive attitude.
