While some teachers always knew that they were going to become teachers, others didn’t; one teacher who didn’t know was Mr. Ojeda.
Ojeda didn’t know he was going to be teaching AP World; he was thinking of going into the business industry but something stopped him and he chose to teach instead.
At first he didn’t know what he wanted to teach but AP World was available and he took the job. He has also taught Global 9, Ap World 9, Global studies 10, and 20th century topics.
He thinks that a student should take AP World instead of World because “it’s challenging themselves and at the end of the year it is like a reward, it will be tough but […] they could do it.”
This is Mr. Ojeda’s 24th year teaching and he is excited for the school year and very determined to teach his students about history.
Mr. Ojeda loves teaching AP World but his favorite era to teach to his students is the 20th century because to him it’s fun to teach the recent era. He likes the drama and the endless stories. He also likes that we have more technology so it’s easier for him to show videos and photos to his students.
Growing up Mr. Ojeda didn’t like school. His earliest memory from when he went to school was him crying in kindergarten and that the teachers didn’t really pay attention that he was crying so he was just sad and disliked being there.
