Mr. Reddout, Victor, Girls Golf Coach, gets his steps in by walking hole to hole.
His coaching journey started by being an assistant varsity basketball coach at Bloomfield for three years, beginning in 2012. Mr. Reddout also coached boys’ tennis at Bloomfield High School. His perspective on the differences between coaching at Victor and Bloomfield was that Bloomfield is a lot smaller and has fewer kids. He enjoyed coaching at a smaller school, though it was very different.
Mr. Reddout is a proud Victor girls’ golf coach. Fortunately, Mr. Reddout also gets to coach Victor’s boys’ basketball team. He enjoys working with boys and girls, but did say girls can be more entertaining and social, and sometimes more fun
Mr. Reddout has many favorite things about coaching, but he enjoys seeing the different challenges that students can overcome and face in an athletic environment outside of school.
Recently, the girls’ JV golf team was added to Victor. Mr. Reddout’s view on the change is that there are both good and bad aspects to it. He misses coaching a big group and working with the other coaches together. Now that JV has been added, he thinks it’s more separate but also enjoys that, because he appreciates working with the 8 or 9 athletes on JV He does think it’s an effective method for bringing talent up and getting athletes ready for the varsity level.
For a second year in a row, the Varsity Girls Golf team won sectionals. They achieved this accomplishment last season. He stated, “he knew that they were going to win again this year, since they were 16-0.”
When you don’t find Mr. Reddout coaching golf, he is definitely playing. He has golfed at many different courses, but his dream course to play would be Cape Kidnappers in New Zealand. Mr Reddout did not play golf in high school, but that does not stop him from getting good scores. Mr. Reddout considers himself a good golfer with a 4 handicap. He even achieved a hole-in-one once and hopes for more to come soon.
Whether you meet Mr Reddout on the golf course or basketball court or even in his classroom, he’s a person you want to know.
