On Saturday, October 18th, I went to a Mexican restaurant that is relatively new, having opened about 2 or 3 years ago. There have been many different restaurants at the Mecate restaurant in the last 10 years. It is located in Macdon, Webster, and Rochester, NY.

Before I went to the restaurant, I checked the reviews. They have 4.6 stars, with mostly 5 and 4 star ratings, but some have 3 to 1 star ratings. For the five stars, they say the food is really good, the prices are good, and they have veggie options on their menu.
My mom and I went to the Mecate Mexican restaurant. It was an early dinner, and the restaurant was empty when we arrived. There was only one other couple at the restaurant, and we were seated quickly and given chips and salsa. It was good salsa, and the chips were warm. It was clean inside the restaurant, and there was Mexican music playing.
The girl who served us approached us and asked what we wanted to drink. I wish she had told us her name or had a name tag, but she came and took our drink order. When she came back with our drinks, she took our order. I got four chicken tacos for $10.99, and my mom got a chicken quesadilla for $14.99. It was $32 and added a $6 tip.
It took about 10 minutes for our food to come. As we waited for our food, the restaurant began to fill up. When we got our food, she gave us more napkins. I really appreciated that because I was about to ask for some napkins.
When I was eating my taco, I noticed that the shredded chicken was very juicy, much like the taco shell, and the cheese was a little soggy. There wasn’t a lot of cheese or lettuce on my taco, but it was still a delicious taco. My mom said it was good, but wishes the vegetables were sauteed.
Also, when we were eating, the server was staring at us. I don’t know if she was waiting for us to be done, but she was just staring, which made me a little uncomfortable. It was good; I would give it a 7.5, and my mom said she would give it a 7. It was good, but we prefer another Mexican restaurant near us, Toritos Cantina. Macats was still a really good Mexican restaurant.
Reviews online are mixed. Some consider Mecate “authentic” while others described it as “the whitest Mexican food I have ever had.” People think, “There is quick service .” Well, some people said” it was slow” and that the food is “dry and curly,” and others say it is “really good and they will be back for more.”
I would recommend this if you like Mexican food. The prices are reasonable, and you get a lot of food for the price you pay. Everyone was friendly in the restaurant.
