Here are 10 movie suggestions when you don’t know what to watch

Movie night is always hard when you don’t know what to watch, and good movies are hard to find. From romantic comedies to action, here you’ll find underrated and popular films that will keep you entertained through the entire thing.

1. Set It Up (Netflix-2018)

Two frenemies working in the same building plan to set up their workaholic bosses to make more free time for themselves. Spending most of their time with each other, Charlie (Glen Powell) and Harper (Zoey Deutch) become friends in all the chaos and eventually realize they like one another. The film brings us many witty one-liners and a perspective on assistants’ lives, making you root for these two in this swoon-worthy rom-com.

2. The Proposal (Hulu-2009)

Two loveable comedic actors, Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, give us a film that is funny and romantic. Margaret Tate, the boss of a big book editing company, must prove her fake marriage with her assistant Andrew Paxton to the suspicious immigration official. If she fails the test she is at risk of being deported back to Canada. Andrew agrees to this, but he requests that she fly home to Alaska to meet his family. Many mishaps later we see these two fall in love, concluding that opposites attract.

3. Gran Turismo (Netlifx- 2023)

Motorsport executive Danny Moore (Orlando Bloome) has a questionable vision to make a handful of the world’s best Gran Turismo gamers into professional GT3 drivers, although the movie portrays them as Formula 1 drivers.  Winning in a gaming competition, working-class citizen Jann Mardenbourough wins a racing contract with Nissan. Former driver Jack Slater (David Harbour) pushes these kids’ limits in training and bonds with Jann, who becomes historic in the racing community.  In real life, Jann goes on to compete at the highest level of races in Super GT, Super Formula, and Le Mons.

4. Now You See Me (Max and Hulu- 2013)

Cocky and witty Atlas (Jessie Eisenberg) leads a team of magicians called the Four Horseman as they drain the bank accounts of corrupt billionaires and give the money to audience members. Atlas, Merritt (Woody Harrelson), Jack Wilder (Dave Franko), and Henley (Isla Fisher) make their way from show to show with investigators (Mark Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent) trying to decipher their tricks alongside a famous debunker Thaddeus (Morgan Freeman). This series follows the teams’ adventures as they get more complicated, with the next one hopefully being released this year or 2025.

5. Air (Prime Video – 2023)

Based on a true story, Sonny Vaccaro (Matt Damon), a basketball scout tries to persuade Nike to pursue basketball rookie Michael Jordan for their next shoe. While Michael has other companies looking at him, Sonny needs this to work for himself and the rest of Nike. Making more than $100 million at the end of the year, this partnership will change the market for sports and athleticwear alike.

6. No Hard Feelings (Netflix – 2023)

This raunchy comedy features Jennifer Lawrence as Maddie and Andrew Barth Feldman as Percy. Maddie is in debt and just lost her car, as an Uber driver she agrees to date a wealthy couple’s child, introverted 19-year-old  Percy, for their used car. She is tasked with breaking him out of his shell, and as time is running out he proves to be more than she bargained for, which blossoms into a beautiful friendship. This movie will make you laugh and reveal that there is more than what you see on the surface.

7. The Devil All The Time (Netflix – 2020)

This film set in the ’60s follows a group of characters in a small town corrupted by sins and trauma, and how the most unlikely people are connected. Curiously suspicious Arvin Russell (Tom Holland), must protect himself and the ones he loves from the evil people in his town: the abusive preacher (Robert Pattinson) and a serial killer couple. With the help of a cop Lee (Sebastian Stan), who is also mixed up in this drama, Arvin must follow his gut as paths cross and fate seems dangerous.

8. The Adam project (Netflix – 2022)

Adult Adam Reed (Ryan Reynolds) travels back in time and unintentionally collides with his 12-year-old sarcastic self (Walker Scobell). Crash landing in 2022, they must team up to save the future in this action-packed comedy, and viewers will find this duo hilarious.

9. Uncharted (Hulu – 2022)

Based off of the video game, Uncharted features Victor “Sully” Sullivan ( Mark Wahlberg) as he recruits street-smart pickpocketing and bartender Nate Drake (Tom Holland), who will help him recover a 500-year-old lost fortune. This fun adventure turns into a race against billionaire Santiago Moncada, but their budding ways may cost them the $5 billion treasure.

10. Free Guy (Disney Plus  – 2021)

When a non-player character (NPC) Guy (Ryan Reynolds), in the video game Free City, falls in love with a human player, he discovers he isn’t real. With this new revelation, he must save his world with the help of video game designers Millie (Jodie Comer) and Keys (Joe Keery), who are in a lawsuit against the creator of Free City.
